Owner Raises $240 Million for AI Platform for Local Businesses

Owner raised $240 million in financing led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, bringing its valuation to $2.3 billion. The company offers AI tools for restaurant websites, ordering, apps, CRM, customer support, POS, and phone ordering.

Owner said in a press release that it raised $240 million in financing led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, reaching a $2.3 billion valuation. Existing investors Meritech, Redpoint, Headline, and Jack Altman also participated.

The San Francisco company builds AI tools for local businesses, starting with restaurants. Its platform covers websites, online ordering, mobile apps, CRM, customer support, POS, and AI phone ordering.

Owner said it launched in 2020 and has passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue. The company said independent restaurants will process more than $1 billion in sales through its platform this year.

Owner said its AI agents can create promotions, update websites, build campaigns, generate creative, answer phone calls, take orders, respond to reviews and emails, and support customers. The company plans to expand to more independent restaurants, international markets, and other local business categories such as salons, spas, and independent grocers.
