OpenAI Introduces o1-pro Model with Enhanced Computing Power
OpenAI has launched the o1-pro, a more powerful version of its o1 reasoning AI model, now available in its developer API. According to OpenAI's documentation, the o1-pro uses more computing resources to deliver consistently better responses, though at a significantly higher cost. The model is priced at $150 per million input tokens and $600 per million output tokens, making it twice as expensive as the GPT-4.5 for input and ten times the price of the regular o1 model.
The o1-pro is currently accessible to select developers who have spent at least $5 on OpenAI API services. Despite its high cost, OpenAI is confident that the improved performance of o1-pro will attract developers seeking more reliable responses to complex problems. However, early feedback from users indicates that while the model performs slightly better on coding and math problems, it still struggles with certain tasks like Sudoku puzzles and optical illusion jokes.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
