OpenAI Acquires Presentation Startup NextSlide

OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a presentation startup whose team is now working on ChatGPT, TechCrunch reports. Financial terms were not disclosed.

NextSlide founder Ahmed Beshry described the product as a tool that could turn prompts, notes, documents, and research into polished, editable presentations. He said the team will continue building AI products that help people create and communicate ideas.

Beshry said on LinkedIn that the announcement came a few months late and that the acquisition happened earlier this year. He was previously a cofounder at Caper AI, a smart cart and checkout startup acquired by Instacart in 2021.
