August 12, 2026
NGP VAN has launched NGP VAN Interface, a Model Context Protocol system that connects AI tools to its campaign platforms. The product is in closed beta and includes a command line tool, an MCP server, and a Claude integration.

NGP VAN announced in a press release the launch of NGP VAN Interface, a Model Context Protocol solution for Democratic and progressive campaigns, nonprofits, unions, PACs, and advocacy groups. The system connects AI tools to NGP VAN platforms while using existing permission, authentication, and security controls.

Interface adds a new access layer for AI assistants and automated workflows. It includes an open source command line interface for NGP VAN APIs, an MCP server with authentication and permission controls, and a proof of concept integration with Anthropic's Claude.

The product supports natural language prompts for common campaign tasks and can run workflows across multiple NGP VAN databases from one user account and one command. NGP VAN said early partners are testing organizing and fundraising workflows ahead of the midterm elections and the 2027 to 2028 election cycles.

NGP VAN Interface is currently in closed beta. The company is seeking campaign and organizational users, as well as agencies and technology builders interested in creating agentic skills on top of the system.
