The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has introduced a new ICD-10-PCS code for AI sepsis diagnostic technologies, including Prenosis' Sepsis ImmunoScore.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has introduced a new ICD-10-PCS code to support AI sepsis diagnostic technologies, including Prenosis' Sepsis ImmunoScore, announced in a press release. Effective October 1, 2025, hospitals can utilize the code XXEZXCB to document the clinical use of these technologies.

This new coding structure marks a significant advancement in the standardization and recognition of computer-aided sepsis diagnostic tools within the healthcare system. It facilitates accurate documentation and tracking of Sepsis ImmunoScore's implementation, which is crucial for clinical quality measurement and reimbursement optimization.

The establishment of this specific code also serves as a prerequisite for New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) submission processes, enabling healthcare organizations to integrate Sepsis ImmunoScore into their documentation workflows seamlessly.
