miRoncol Health Launches AI Cancer Screening Blood Test in Ontario

Oct 1, 2026
miRoncol Health has launched miCheckup, a blood test that uses an AI algorithm to identify miRNA patterns associated with cancer. The service costs CAD $1,299 and includes an eligible MRI follow up when the test detects a signal.

miRoncol Health announced in a press release the launch of miCheckup, a miRNA blood test for multi cancer screening in Ontario. The service is available to eligible adults who have no cancer symptoms and costs CAD $1,299.

The test profiles microRNA molecules in a blood sample, then uses an AI algorithm to identify patterns associated with cancer. Customers request the test through a private virtual clinic, receive a requisition from a qualified practitioner when appropriate, and provide a blood sample at LifeLabs.

If the test detects a suspected cancer signal, the price covers a private whole body MRI when the scan is suitable and available through a participating facility. The company says a positive signal is not a cancer diagnosis, and customers should continue recommended screening and medical care regardless of the result.
