Midjourney announced on X that it is acquiring Co-Star, a social astrology app. Co-Star founder Banu Guler is joining Midjourney as chief design officer and will continue to oversee the app.

Co-Star offers daily horoscopes, birth chart tools, and compatibility features. The app uses AI and human writing to create personalized astrology content, and has about 4.3 million monthly active users.

Midjourney currently offers its image and video generation tools through its website and Discord. The company plans to build its first standalone image generation app, with Guler and the Co-Star team working on design, product, and front end engineering across Midjourney projects.

Co-Star's roughly two dozen employees have joined Midjourney. The deal terms were not disclosed.
