Microsoft Invests $400 Million in Swiss AI and Cloud Infrastructure
Microsoft Corporation is set to invest $400 million in Switzerland to enhance its AI and cloud infrastructure, according to Reuters. This investment will focus on expanding and upgrading Microsoft's data centers near Zurich and Geneva, addressing the increasing demand for AI and cloud computing services in the region.
The expansion aims to serve more than 50,000 existing customers while ensuring data remains within Swiss borders, a crucial requirement for sectors such as healthcare, finance, and government. Microsoft will also strengthen its partnerships with small and medium-sized enterprises and enhance training efforts to help people utilize AI and digital tools effectively.
This initiative is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to support Switzerland's innovation ecosystem, empowering startups and SMEs through collaborations with Switzerland Innovation Parks. Additionally, Microsoft plans to skill one million Swiss people by 2027, equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive in an AI-driven economy.
