Maxinsights raises $30 million for robot training data
Maxinsights raised $30 million in seed funding to expand its collection of training data for robotics models, according to Forbes. The round was led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Tola Capital, South Park Commons, INCE Capital and Alumni Ventures.
More than 5,000 contractors across six countries wear the company's head, wrist and chest cameras while completing tasks such as loading dishwashers and making smoothies. Maxinsights converts the footage into data for robotics foundation models. It has captured more than 2 million hours of footage and serves over 30 customers, including AI labs and foundation model companies.
The company also launched MaxLoop, a platform that scores incoming footage for camera placement, task completion and usability. Maxinsights is developing MaxGlove with Genesis AI to record grip force, object weight and changes in contact during tasks. It plans to collect 1 million hours of force data in 2027.
