Magna and Nvidia Collaborate on AI-Powered Automotive Technologies
Magna International has announced a collaboration with Nvidia to integrate the Nvidia DRIVE AGX platform into its next-generation automotive technology solutions. Announced in a press release, this partnership aims to develop AI-powered systems for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving, enhancing vehicle safety and comfort.
The collaboration will utilize Nvidia's DRIVE AGX Thor system-on-a-chip (SoC), which is built on the Blackwell GPU architecture and runs the safety-certified DriveOS operating system. This integration is expected to improve efficiency, speed, and scalability in vehicle intelligence, enabling software-defined vehicles with advanced active safety and interior cabin AI solutions.
Magna plans to develop and test advancements in L2+ through L4 active safety solutions on the DRIVE Thor platform, with a working demonstration expected by Q4 2025. This initiative positions Magna as a leader in automotive electronics and autonomous driving solutions, leveraging Nvidia's accelerated compute performance and AI capabilities.
