Lunit Showcases AI Innovations in Oncology at ASCO 2025
Lunit will present 12 studies at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, showcasing the impact of AI in advancing precision oncology, announced in a press release. The event, scheduled from May 30 to June 3 in Chicago, will feature Lunit's AI-powered digital pathology solutions.
One notable study, conducted with Japan's National Cancer Center Hospital East, evaluated HER2 expression in biliary tract cancer patients using Lunit's AI analyzer. The study found that AI-derived scores strongly aligned with pathologist-assigned scores, and identified additional responders to trastuzumab deruxtecan treatment, potentially expanding patient access to targeted therapies.
Another study assessed the concordance between AI and pathologist evaluations of PD-L1 expression in lung cancer patients. The AI model demonstrated a 70% overall concordance with expert pathologists, highlighting its potential to identify additional candidates for immunotherapy.
Lunit will also present research on AI models predicting CLDN18.2 expression in gastric cancer, which could guide treatment decisions without additional immunohistochemistry tests. These studies underscore AI's growing role in enhancing diagnostic precision and treatment selection in oncology.
