Knox Systems Adds Former CISA CIO David Epperson to Federal Advisory Board

Knox Systems has appointed former CISA Chief Information Officer and White House Deputy CIO David Epperson to its Federal Advisory Board. Epperson brings over three decades of federal cybersecurity experience to the company’s efforts supporting secure AI and cloud adoption across government agencies.

Former CISA Chief Information Officer and White House Deputy CIO David Epperson has joined the Federal Advisory Board of Knox Systems, announced in a press release.

Epperson, currently Senior Vice President for National Security at H2O.ai, has more than 30 years of experience in federal technology and cybersecurity. His previous roles include Senior Presidential Transition Advisor at the White House Military Office and Deputy CIO for the Executive Office of the President.

At CISA, Epperson oversaw the agency’s technology and cybersecurity operations during a major expansion period, establishing foundational IT and defense programs. In his new advisory role at Knox Systems, he will contribute to guiding federal agencies in secure adoption of AI and cloud technologies.

Knox’s Federal Advisory Board includes leaders from defense, civilian, and technology sectors who advise on compliance and modernization strategy. The company operates one of the largest managed federal clouds, providing FedRAMP-authorized solutions for government modernization initiatives.
