KDAN Open Sources ComPDF and DottedSign for Enterprise AI Document Workflows
KDAN announced in a press release that it has open sourced its core products ComPDF and DottedSign on GitHub, offering self hosted deployment options for enterprises seeking to manage AI powered document workflows. This move allows organizations to deploy and validate the tools locally while maintaining full control over sensitive information.
The open source repositories are released under Open Source Initiative approved licenses. Enterprises can download the core source code, install the applications in private cloud or on premises environments, and perform technical validation before choosing to upgrade to commercial enterprise licensing. Paid plans provide additional features such as advanced security modules, technical support, system integration, and version maintenance.
ComPDF includes document parsing, field extraction, and API integration capabilities. KDAN reported that in internal testing using the OpenDataLab dataset, ComPDF outperformed several existing open source models on tasks like table and text recognition. DottedSign includes eSignature functionality with a modular architecture designed for system compatibility and private deployment. Both products enable enterprises to operate document workflows securely and eliminate reliance on third party cloud services.
KDAN stated that this approach supports industries such as financial services, manufacturing, and government that require strict data governance. The company plans to extend its open source and commercial model to other products as it continues to develop its enterprise AI document infrastructure.
