J.S. Held Expands Capabilities for AI-Related Legal Disputes
J.S. Held has expanded its integrated capabilities to support clients facing the legal, technical, and financial complexities of artificial intelligence disputes, announced in a press release. The move follows findings from the firm's Q1 2026 AI Disputes Monitor, which projects a nearly 50% rise in AI-related case filings compared to the previous year.
The firm’s expanded services combine technical analysis, financial assessment, and litigation support to address the interdependent nature of AI systems. This includes expertise in digital forensics, model versioning, data provenance, and economic valuation of intellectual property. The company also applies structured forensic methods such as system log reconstruction and model version analysis to clarify how AI systems operate.
J.S. Held’s team has recently supported projects in AI risk governance, vendor ecosystem advisory, and model validation. The firm also contributed expert financial analysis in the Thomson Reuters v. Ross Intelligence case, addressing the market impact of using proprietary legal content to train generative AI systems.
The company’s latest AI Disputes Monitor highlights growing litigation in the insurance sector, with 31 AI-related lawsuits filed in the first quarter of 2026. This trend underscores increasing scrutiny of AI-driven decision-making in claims processing and policy coverage.
