Former Anthropic Researcher Jacob Coxon to Testify at New York City AI Hearing
Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon will testify at a New York City hearing on artificial intelligence, Reuters reports. He will appear at the request of New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin as lawmakers consider bills intended to establish AI safeguards.
Coxon resigned from Anthropic in September. He warned that researchers building AI believe it could threaten humanity by the end of the decade and accused Anthropic and OpenAI of taking unacceptable risks.
The New York City Council is seeking testimony from AI whistleblowers while reviewing the proposed legislation.
