Honeywell Survey Highlights AI's Role in Enhancing Energy Security
Honeywell has released a survey indicating that artificial intelligence (AI) is viewed as a significant asset for enhancing energy security. Announced in a press release, the survey found that 91% of U.S. energy executives believe AI has the potential to improve energy security in the near term.
The survey, which included 300 decision-makers from various energy sectors, revealed that while only 12% currently consider AI critical to their operations, 81% anticipate it becoming essential within the next five years. Key areas where AI is expected to make an impact include cybersecurity, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency.
Additionally, the survey highlighted that more than half of the respondents are using AI to address labor shortages and enhance workplace safety. As the global energy demand is projected to increase significantly by 2050, leveraging AI and digital technologies is seen as crucial for optimizing operations and integrating new energy sources efficiently.
