Honeycomb Introduces AI-Driven Observability Tools and Metrics Platform
Honeycomb has introduced new AI-powered observability capabilities and product milestones, including the general availability of Honeycomb Metrics and expanded Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, announced in a press release.
The new tools include Honeycomb Agent Skills for AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor, enabling faster onboarding and automated system investigations. Honeycomb Automated Investigations can now detect and analyze production issues autonomously, while the Honeycomb Slackbot allows teams to query observability data and receive evidence-based responses directly within Slack.
Honeycomb Metrics combines time series and event-based data models in one platform, supporting both traditional infrastructure monitoring and high-cardinality data without additional costs. The unified query experience allows teams to use existing OpenTelemetry metrics while preserving detailed context for AI-driven analysis.
The company also expanded MCP capabilities to integrate observability directly into development and operations tools, providing real-time insights for AI-assisted workflows. Honeycomb Metrics and the new MCP integrations are now generally available, with early access offered for the Slackbot and Automated Investigations features.
