Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Launches AI-Driven PATH Initiative
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust has launched the Proactive & Accessible Transformation of Healthcare (PATH) initiative in collaboration with leading technology companies, including General Catalyst, NVIDIA, Hippocratic AI, and Sword Health, announced in a press release. The initiative aims to transform healthcare delivery by integrating AI technologies to address the NHS's vision of shifting from hospital to community, analogue to digital, and treatment to prevention.
PATH will initially focus on addressing the elective care waiting list crisis at Guy's and St Thomas', where over 53,000 patients are waiting for a first appointment. By leveraging AI-powered patient support, remote monitoring, and virtual care technologies, the initiative seeks to prioritize cases based on clinical need and improve resource allocation.
The collaboration combines the expertise of Guy's and St Thomas' Centre of Innovation, Transformation, and Improvement (CITI) with Hippocratic AI's safety-focused generative AI healthcare agents, Sword Health's AI Care platform, and NVIDIA's technical tools for AI developers. General Catalyst contributes its health system expertise to identify transformative technology providers and align incentives through shared-savings models.
