Google has launched 'Gemini for Government,' providing AI tools to federal agencies for 47 cents per agency, as part of a new deal with the General Services Administration.

Google Public Sector has launched 'Gemini for Government,' offering its AI models and tools to federal agencies at a significantly reduced rate of 47 cents per agency. This initiative is part of a new agreement with the General Services Administration (GSA), according to FedScoop. The offer will be available through 2026.

The Gemini platform includes access to high-profile AI models and tools such as NotebookLM, a research and note-taking tool, and AI agents for deep research and idea generation. This move positions Google competitively against other AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, which offer their models for $1 per agency.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, expressed pride in partnering with the GSA to provide these AI tools, emphasizing the company's commitment to supporting federal agencies with their AI innovation needs. The platform builds on Google's previous agreement to offer Google Workspace to federal agencies at a 71% discount.

The GSA has included Google's Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Anthropic's Claude in its purchasing system, allowing federal agencies to access these AI models. This initiative aligns with the White House's AI Action Plan, which aims to accelerate AI adoption across the federal government.
