GoDaddy Introduces Trusted Identity System for AI Agents
GoDaddy has launched a trusted identity naming system for AI agents, announced in a press release. This new framework aims to address the challenge of distinguishing legitimate AI agents from unvetted or malicious ones, as the number of AI agents is expected to exceed one billion in the next three years.
The system is designed to work across various protocols using a modular adapter layer, drawing on concepts from an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) draft for an Agent Name Service (ANS). It provides a report on each enrolled agent, verifying its identity, confirming its good standing, and specifying its location. The system uses human-readable names mapped to agent endpoints and metadata, and employs X.509 certificates for cryptographic verification.
A developer preview of this system will be available in the coming weeks, with broader availability to follow. GoDaddy is collaborating with standards bodies and industry partners to ensure broad participation and seamless interoperability.
