GoDaddy and LegalZoom Partner on Verified AI Agent Standard
GoDaddy and LegalZoom have entered into a partnership to support the open Agent Name Service (ANS) standard, announced in a press release. The initiative aims to enhance trust and security across the growing ecosystem of AI agents operating on the open web.
The ANS standard uses the existing domain name system (DNS) and public key infrastructure (PKI) certificates to assign each AI agent a unique, verifiable identity. This allows agents to be discovered and authenticated across platforms, helping users and systems confirm the legitimacy of AI entities they interact with.
As part of the partnership, LegalZoom registered its first AI agent using GoDaddy ANS. The agent functions as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that integrates LegalZoom’s legal services into AI assistants like Anthropic’s Claude, enabling users to connect with attorneys, manage consultations, and share legal documents.
GoDaddy developed the first public implementation of the ANS open standard, allowing organizations to publish and verify AI agents within minutes. The system provides cryptographic verification through DNS, confirming that registered agents are operated by legitimate entities and discoverable at internet scale.
