DSTA Chooses Oracle Cloud for Singapore's Defence Needs

Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) has signed a contract with Oracle to establish an Oracle Cloud Isolated Region for Singapore's Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). Announced in a press release, this collaboration aims to provide high-performance, air-gapped, and secure cloud computing, data management, and AI services.
The Oracle Cloud Isolated Region will enhance the SAF's Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) functions by offering a scalable and secure environment. This setup is completely disconnected from the internet, ensuring a sovereign and resilient infrastructure for mission-critical applications.
The agreement allows the Digital and Intelligence Service to leverage Oracle's air-gapped cloud services to accelerate AI deployment for SAF missions. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize digital capabilities and improve decision-making processes within Singapore's defence sector.
