Dotdigital Acquires Alia Software to Expand AI Marketing Capabilities on Shopify
Dotdigital Group plc has acquired Alia Software Inc., an AI-powered pop-up and email/SMS list-growth platform for Shopify merchants, announced in a press release. The deal, valued at up to $60 million depending on performance, adds Alia’s AI-driven conversion tools to Dotdigital’s customer experience and data platform.
Alia’s technology helps e-commerce brands convert website visitors into subscribers through intelligent, brand-aligned pop-ups and interactive experiences. The platform uses AI testing and targeting to optimize engagement timing and content, supporting faster audience growth and richer customer data capture.
The acquisition strengthens Dotdigital’s ability to support Shopify merchants with integrated marketing and data solutions. Alia currently serves over 2,700 customers, generating more than $8 million in annual recurring revenue as of December 2025. Dotdigital plans to integrate Alia’s capabilities into its platform through a phased roadmap to enhance on-site engagement, data activation, and cross-channel marketing performance.
