Deutsche Telekom Expands AI Across Networks and Services at MWC 2026
At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Deutsche Telekom presented its expanded artificial intelligence strategy under the theme “Magenta AI at scale. Human at heart,” integrating AI across its network operations, enterprise platforms, and consumer services, reports www.rcrwireless.com.
The company demonstrated AI-driven network automation capable of autonomously managing mobile capacity during high-traffic events. These AI agents adjust network configurations and reallocate resources in real time, a system previously tested in Germany after its 2025 debut. Deutsche Telekom stated that this approach allows networks to adapt dynamically to varying usage patterns, including calls, gaming, and industrial applications.
For enterprise customers, Deutsche Telekom showcased its AI factory in Munich, designed to support Europe-based AI applications with a focus on data protection and regional deployment. The facility highlights the company’s goal of enabling secure, large-scale AI operations within European infrastructure.
New consumer concepts were also introduced, including a smart home system that uses voice commands to automate device integration and configuration, even for older hardware. In addition, the company unveiled a prototype for AI-powered smart glasses and launched the Magenta AI call assistant, which provides live translation, call summaries, and question answering directly within calls—without requiring special apps or devices.
Separately, MWC Barcelona also featured other AI and network innovations from global vendors, including FiberHome, which announced in a press release a series of optical computing and intelligent networking solutions aimed at advancing industrial digitalization.
