Databeyond Technology Unveils China's First Automated Textile Waste Sorting Line

September 16, 2025
Databeyond Technology has launched China's first fully automated textile waste sorting line at Shanhesheng Environmental Technology, utilizing AI and hyperspectral imaging for efficient sorting.

China's first fully automated textile waste sorting line has been launched by Databeyond Technology at Zhangjiagang Shanhesheng Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., announced in a press release. This innovative line uses AI and hyperspectral imaging technologies to sort discarded garments with high precision.

The sorting line can process approximately 2 tons of textile waste per hour, efficiently separating materials such as high-purity polyester, cotton, and nylon, as well as various blends. This advancement significantly reduces labor requirements, needing only four workers to achieve the same throughput that previously required over 30 workers.

The project marks a significant step in transforming China's textile recycling sector, moving towards AI-driven sorting. The system's ability to identify garment material, color, style, and blend ratios allows it to meet specific brand requirements, enhancing the value of recycled fibers and materials. The initiative is part of a broader effort to support the global textile industry's shift towards circular growth.
