Context, a startup focused on developing an AI-powered office suite, has raised $11 million in a seed funding round led by Lux Capital, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures and General Catalyst, according to TechCrunch. This funding round values the company at $70 million.

Founded in 2024 by Joseph Semrai, a Thiel Fellow, Context aims to revolutionize productivity tools by integrating AI capabilities from the ground up. Unlike traditional office suites that have retrofitted AI features, Context is designed to leverage AI models to handle large context windows and multiple applications simultaneously.

The Context suite includes AI-powered tools such as AI Documents, AI Slides, and AI Spreadsheets, which automate the creation of reports, presentations, and data analysis without the need for manual input. The platform also offers a Python interpreter for running code and plans to support offline functionality, allowing users to perform simple analysis and document drafting locally.

Context's approach to productivity tools is built on the premise of reducing the time spent on repetitive tasks, thereby enhancing efficiency for enterprises and government agencies. The company has already garnered significant interest, with over 60,000 professionals on its waitlist ahead of its public launch.
