Cognition AI is in early discussions to raise a new round of funding that could value the company at $25 billion, more than double its previous $10.2 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg. The AI coding startup aims to secure hundreds of millions of dollars, though the talks are ongoing and terms may change.

The company has seen increased investor interest following an announcement by SpaceX that it reached an agreement to acquire rival coding firm Cursor for $60 billion. Cognition President Russell Kaplan said in a post on X that the company had received more inquiries from customers and prospective employees after the Cursor news.

Founded in 2023, Cognition AI develops tools that apply artificial intelligence to software development. Its main product, Devin, is described as an AI software engineer capable of writing and debugging code for business customers. The company lists clients including Anduril Industries and Microsoft.

Cognition previously raised $400 million at a $10.2 billion valuation after acquiring assets of Windsurf, another AI coding company. Investors include Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, and Avenir.
