Clio Acquires Judicial AI Provider Learned Hand

Clio acquired Learned Hand, which makes AI tools that help judges and court clerks analyze cases and prepare drafts. All 12 Learned Hand employees will join Clio.

Clio acquired Learned Hand, a provider of AI tools for judges and court staff, reports Legaltech News. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Learned Hand provides software that helps judges and clerks analyze cases and prepare drafts. The acquisition gives Clio its first product designed specifically for the judiciary, and the software will form the basis of future Clio products for courts.

All 12 Learned Hand employees will join Clio. The purchase follows Clio's appointments of Casetext cofounder Pablo Arredondo as senior vice president of judiciary and former Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack as general manager.
