Clarivate Introduces Derwent Patent Monitor for AI-Driven IP Reviews
Clarivate announced in a press release the launch of Derwent Patent Monitor, an AI-powered enterprise solution aimed at streamlining intellectual property (IP) and research and development (R&D) patent reviews. The platform assists users in assessing patentability, freedom to operate, and potential infringement risks.
The tool uses proprietary data from the Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI), which contains over 67 million invention summaries compiled by Clarivate experts. Its AI-driven threat analysis feature helps identify key risks during first-pass reviews, enabling patent professionals to make faster and more informed decisions.
Derwent Patent Monitor is designed to enhance collaboration across teams through structured, project-based workflows and real-time feedback, replacing traditional email and spreadsheet-based review processes. This setup aims to keep patent and R&D teams aligned and improve the efficiency of IP monitoring and evaluation tasks.
