Centrus Energy Partners with Palantir to Boost U.S. Uranium Enrichment Efficiency
Centrus Energy has partnered with Palantir Technologies to apply AI-driven software tools across its uranium enrichment operations, announced in a press release. The collaboration supports Centrus’ multi-billion-dollar expansion of its enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio, with early work identifying nearly $300 million in potential cost savings.
Through the partnership, Centrus is deploying Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to integrate systems across classified and unclassified environments. The software will be used to optimize project controls, engineering, manufacturing execution, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance.
Since beginning the collaboration in January, the companies have focused on improving project execution and reducing manufacturing lead times. Centrus, the only U.S.-owned uranium enricher, aims to accelerate production and strengthen domestic energy security through these efficiency gains.
Executives from both firms noted that the partnership demonstrates how AI tools can improve performance in critical infrastructure projects. The initiative will be featured at AIPCon 9, a Palantir-led event showcasing industrial applications of its AI software.
