Celestial AI Secures $250 Million to Advance Photonic Fabric Technology
Celestial AI has raised $250 million in its Series C1 funding round, led by Fidelity Management & Research Company, bringing the total capital raised to over $515 million. This funding aims to accelerate the commercialization of Celestial AI's Photonic Fabric technology, which is designed to enhance AI infrastructure by providing high-bandwidth, low-latency network connectivity announced in a press release.
The Photonic Fabric platform uses optical interconnect technology to network AI compute seamlessly, from within processor packages to servers across multiple racks. This technology is expected to meet the increasing demands of AI infrastructure, offering solutions for connectivity, switching, and packaging that serve as the foundation for optical scale-up networks.
The funding round saw participation from new investors such as BlackRock, Maverick Silicon, Tiger Global Management, and Lip-Bu Tan, along with existing investors including AMD Ventures, Koch Disruptive Technologies, and Temasek. Celestial AI plans to use the funds to expand and qualify its volume manufacturing supply chain to meet customer demand, as it continues to engage with multiple hyperscalers and AI processor partners.
