Celent Reports Highlight Role of Compensation Tech in Insurance Agent Relationships

In a press release, research firm Celent and insurance technology provider Vertafore released findings showing that technology-enabled compensation management significantly affects how independent agents choose carriers in the life and health insurance sectors.

The studies, based on a survey of 600 agents, found that flexible payment schedules, accurate commission tracking, and transparent dashboards are key factors influencing agent satisfaction and loyalty. According to Celent, carriers that use specialized compensation management systems are better equipped to handle complex commission structures and improve agent engagement.

Vertafore’s Sircon Compensation platform was highlighted as an example of software designed to automate payment cycles, configure incentive programs, and centralize commission oversight. The company also announced upcoming AI features that will allow insurers to answer commission-related questions in plain language and suggest dispute resolutions.

Celent’s reports conclude that insurers investing in digital compensation tools can strengthen agent relationships and gain a competitive edge in distribution performance.
