CAQH Now Owned by Twelve Leading Health Plans to Advance Healthcare Data Solutions

CAQH announced that twelve major health plans have become its shareholders, a move aimed at strengthening partnerships and accelerating the development of connected healthcare data solutions.

CAQH announced that it is now owned by twelve shareholder companies affiliated with the nation's leading health plans, according to a press release. The new ownership structure is designed to deepen partnerships, expand product capabilities, and enhance interoperability across the healthcare data ecosystem.

The organization maintains more than 4.8 million provider data records and member data covering 75% of U.S. insured lives. With this change, CAQH plans to invest further in technologies that improve the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of healthcare data.

The CAQH Board of Directors now includes representatives from companies such as UnitedHealth Group, Centene, Aetna, Elevance Health, Cigna, and Humana. The board will guide strategic initiatives to strengthen data connectivity and reduce administrative complexity.

CAQH stated that the new company structure will support its goal of powering the next generation of connected healthcare data solutions, enabling more efficient information exchange across the healthcare system.
