CAI Software Acquires PlanetTogether to Expand Manufacturing Planning Tools

CAI Software has acquired PlanetTogether, a provider of advanced planning and scheduling software, to enhance its manufacturing software portfolio with new production scheduling and capacity planning capabilities.

CAI Software has acquired PlanetTogether, a provider of Advanced Planning and Scheduling software for process and discrete manufacturers, announced in a press release. The acquisition adds production scheduling, capacity planning, and constraint-based optimization to CAI's suite of manufacturing software.

PlanetTogether’s tools help manufacturers reduce replanning time, optimize capacity across multiple plants, and test production scenarios before making changes on the shop floor. The company’s software integrates with ERP and MES systems used by manufacturers in sectors such as food and beverage, consumer goods, chemicals, and industrial production.

Following the acquisition, PlanetTogether has been rebranded as CAI PlanetTogether and will continue to operate as a standalone product. CAI stated that it will continue investing in the product’s roadmap, focusing on AI, analytics, and cloud development through its research and development center of excellence.
