Bota Launches SAION AI Platform for Biomanufacturing

March 12, 2026
Bota has introduced SAION AI, described as the first Physical AI platform for biomanufacturing. The system integrates cognition, orchestration, and execution layers to automate and optimize biological research and production.

Bota announced in a press release the launch of SAION AI, which it describes as the first Physical AI platform for biomanufacturing. The platform is designed to connect cognitive reasoning with physical laboratory execution through a closed-loop system that continuously optimizes biological discovery and production.

SAION AI is built on three layers—Cognition, Orchestration, and Execution. The Cognition Layer integrates data from Bota’s Cell2Cloud Biofoundry, combining experimental data, scientific literature, and public databases to develop a multi-scale understanding of biological systems. The Orchestration Layer uses a large language model-based engine to coordinate multi-agent research workflows and manage over 300 specialized scientific tools.

The Execution Layer translates experimental designs into standardized instructions using Bota’s Biological Protocol Language, allowing direct interaction with laboratory hardware. Data from experiments are then fed back into the Cognition Layer to refine models and accelerate R&D.

Bota reports that SAION AI has achieved high accuracy across multiple life science AI benchmarks, including literature comprehension and genetic engineering tasks, and can autonomously complete full research workflows from literature review to wet-lab assembly with over 90% accuracy.
