Bandwidth Inc. has announced support for OpenAI's Realtime API, enabling enterprises to integrate AI voice agents using GPT models into their communications infrastructure.

Bandwidth Inc. has announced support for OpenAI's latest Realtime API release, allowing enterprises to integrate AI voice agents powered by GPT language models into their communications infrastructure. This integration, announced in a press release, enables natural, human-like conversations through voice calling with session initiation protocol (SIP).

The Realtime API integration is part of Bandwidth's strategy to offer flexible options for enterprises to build AI applications. Customers can choose from pre-built integrations with platforms like Google Dialogflow and Cognigy, or use Bandwidth's programmable voice API for third-party applications. This approach allows enterprises to leverage Bandwidth's global cloud communications network for high-fidelity, low-latency voice calls.

John Bell, Bandwidth's Chief Product Officer, highlighted the benefits of this integration, stating that enterprises can now deploy AI voice agents with the reliability and global scale of Bandwidth's Communications Cloud. This development positions Bandwidth as a leader in AI orchestration for global enterprises.
