ASPEED and Lattice Form Partnership for New Datacenter Control Architecture

May 28, 2026
ASPEED Technology and Lattice Semiconductor have announced a strategic partnership to develop flexible control systems for datacenter management, introducing the AST1840 Satellite Management Controller as the first product from their collaboration.

ASPEED Technology and Lattice Semiconductor have formed a strategic partnership to advance flexible control architectures for datacenter systems, announced in a press release. The collaboration combines ASPEED's expertise in platform management with Lattice's programmable FPGA technology to create adaptable management solutions for server infrastructure.

The first product from this partnership is the AST1840 Satellite Management Controller, which integrates platform management and programmable control in a single device. It features an Arm-based processing subsystem with an embedded FPGA, allowing designers to customize functionality and interfaces while maintaining system simplicity.

AST1840 connects to Baseboard Management Controllers through the LTPI interface and supports the OBMF-ICP protocol defined by the Open Compute Project. It also includes streaming boot capabilities based on the Caliptra 2.x Root of Trust. The controller is designed to support evolving datacenter standards and provide extended system adaptability.

ASPEED stated that the AST1840 will be available in the third quarter of 2026. Both companies plan to present the solution at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei and explore future products that extend programmable control across datacenter platforms.
