Apple to Build AI Server Factory in Texas, Creating 20,000 Jobs
Apple has announced plans to open a new factory in Texas by 2026 to produce artificial intelligence servers, creating approximately 20,000 research and development jobs across the United States. In a press release, Apple detailed its commitment to spend over $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years, which includes investments in AI, silicon engineering, and skills development.
The new 250,000-square-foot facility in Houston will be developed in collaboration with Foxconn and will assemble servers that are currently manufactured outside the U.S. These servers will support Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features designed to enhance user productivity. The initiative is part of Apple's broader strategy to expand its U.S. manufacturing capabilities and reduce reliance on overseas production.
Additionally, Apple plans to double its U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund from $5 billion to $10 billion. This expansion includes a multibillion-dollar commitment to produce advanced silicon at TSMC's Arizona factory, further supporting Apple's efforts to bolster domestic manufacturing and innovation.
