Apple Faces Lawsuit Over Delayed AI Features
Apple is facing a lawsuit in federal court over claims of false advertising related to its Apple Intelligence features. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in San Jose, seeks class-action status and damages for consumers who purchased devices expecting these AI capabilities.
The plaintiffs allege that Apple's advertisements led consumers to believe that the transformative Apple Intelligence features would be available upon the release of their devices. However, they claim that the features were either significantly limited or entirely absent, contrary to Apple's promises.
This lawsuit adds to the challenges Apple is facing as it struggles to deliver the anticipated AI capabilities. Reports suggest that Apple CEO Tim Cook has lost confidence in the ability of AI head John Giannandrea to execute on product development.
