ITU Launches AI for Good Lab for Developing Economies

The International Telecommunication Union has launched the AI for Good Lab to help developing and emerging economies move AI projects into national programs.

International Telecommunication Union has launched the AI for Good Lab to support responsible AI deployment in developing and emerging economies, the organization announced in a press release.

The lab is part of the implementation program for the United Nations AI for Good Impact initiative. It is designed to help countries move beyond isolated AI pilot projects and build policies, skills, and public AI infrastructure for locally relevant AI systems.

The program will focus on policy support, skills development, and public infrastructure. Dr. Ebtesam Almazrouei, chair of AI for Good Impact, said the lab will help turn tested ideas into national capabilities and measurable results.
