Appian Ranks First in Two Gartner Automation Use Cases

Appian ranked first for deterministic workflow automation and platform consolidation in the 2026 Critical Capabilities for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies report, the company said in a press release. Gartner evaluated 20 vendors across five common use cases, while also naming Appian a Leader in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for the category.

Appian placed among the top three vendors across all five use cases and received the highest score for platform operations and governance. Gartner projects that 70% of enterprises will use a consolidated automation platform to coordinate business processes, AI agents, bots, APIs, and human actions by 2030, up from 10% today.

The Appian platform combines process orchestration, data, AI agents, robotic process automation, rules, document processing, and AI assisted low code application development.
