Aon review estimates DarioHealth could reduce healthcare costs by 2.5% to 7.2%
DarioHealth Corp. said in a press release that a review by Aon estimated its digital health platform could reduce total annual healthcare costs by 2.5% to 7.2% across a covered population. For a population of 20,000 people, the estimated annual savings range from $3.8 million to $10.8 million.
Aon evaluated 17 studies identified by DarioHealth covering cardiometabolic, musculoskeletal and behavioral health care. One component study found annual savings of $5,077 and 23.5% fewer inpatient discharges per DarioHealth user with type 2 diabetes compared with matched nonusers.
The estimate excludes DarioHealth's management of multiple conditions and direct access to physicians. Aon estimated these services could add 1.6 to 2.8 percentage points in savings, bringing the potential total reduction to about 10% annually.
The review relied on data, studies and other materials identified or provided by DarioHealth. Aon did not independently verify the underlying data, audit the studies or evaluate all available evidence, and the findings do not guarantee savings for individual customers.
