Anthropic Receives Investor Offers Valuing It at $800 Billion

April 16, 2026
Anthropic has received multiple investor offers for a potential new funding round valuing the AI company at around $800 billion, more than double its previous $380 billion valuation from February. The company has not yet accepted any offers and may consider raising funds later this year.

Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has received offers from investors for a potential new funding round that could value the company at about $800 billion or more. The offers would more than double the company’s $380 billion valuation from its $30 billion fundraising completed in February.

The company has not yet accepted the new offers and is reportedly considering whether to raise additional capital later this year. Earlier in April, Anthropic completed a tender offer at its previous valuation, with many employees choosing to retain their shares ahead of a possible public listing expected as soon as October.

Investor interest has grown alongside Anthropic’s rapid revenue increase, with annual run-rate revenue reaching around $30 billion by the end of March, up from $19 billion a few months earlier. The company’s AI products, including its Claude assistant and the recently introduced Mythos model, have attracted enterprise customers across industries.

The investor enthusiasm follows a period of intense competition among leading AI developers. Rival OpenAI recently raised $122 billion in a deal that brought its valuation to about $852 billion, underscoring the accelerating race for market dominance in advanced AI systems.
