Alitheon Raises $8 Million to Expand Optical AI Serialization Technology
Alitheon has raised 8 million dollars in a Series A1 round led by Emerald Technology Ventures, with participation from eBay Ventures and existing backers, announced in a press release.
The company plans to use the capital to expand deployment of its FeaturePrint technology, which applies optical AI to create a unique digital identity for physical items without using tags, labels, or stickers. The system captures surface-level details of objects to enable authentication, traceability, and fraud prevention.
FeaturePrint is protected by more than 55 issued patents and is used across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and luxury goods. The technology supports what Alitheon calls a Zero Trust framework for verifying the authenticity of physical goods through a standard camera.
Emerald Technology Ventures said the solution addresses major industrial challenges by offering one-to-one serialization at scale. eBay Ventures noted that as recommerce grows, trust and provenance are increasingly important, and Alitheon's approach strengthens the infrastructure needed for transparent trade.
