AI Platform Enhances Cancer Detection in NHS Practices
C the Signs, an AI-led triage platform, has significantly improved early cancer detection rates by 20% across NHS GP practices, while reducing unnecessary urgent referrals by over 61,000 patients, announced in a press release. The study, presented at the AACR Annual Meeting 2025, evaluated over 235,000 patient risk assessments conducted between January 2020 and September 2024.
The AI platform supports GPs by assessing cancer risk in real-time, leading to faster and more accurate decision-making. This has resulted in the diagnosis of 13,585 cancers, improving cancer conversion rates compared to the NHS England national average. By avoiding unnecessary referrals, the platform has freed up critical diagnostic capacity, allowing resources to be focused where they are needed most.
C the Signs uses AI to analyze clinical data in under 60 seconds, identifying patients at risk and recommending the most appropriate diagnostic pathway. This approach not only benefits patients through safer, earlier diagnoses but also supports GPs in managing patient care more effectively. The platform is a UKCA-marked medical device and integrates seamlessly with major electronic medical records systems.
