ZTE Opens 2026 Global Summit in Kuala Lumpur

ZTE opened its 15th Global Summit and User Congress in Kuala Lumpur, presenting AI connectivity, computing infrastructure and devices to more than 500 attendees.

ZTE Corporation opened its 15th Global Summit and User Congress in Kuala Lumpur on September 9, the company said in an announcement. The event is being held alongside GSMA M360 ASEAN for the first time and drew more than 500 government officials, telecommunications executives, business representatives and industry partners.

Malaysian Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo used the opening to press the case for converting artificial intelligence into economic and societal value, and restated the country's goal of becoming an AI Nation by 2030. Malaysian Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil argued that Malaysia must move beyond deploying connectivity toward tangible results in public services, business strength, local talent and national capability.

ZTE Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Xie Junshi presented the company's Connectivity plus Computing strategy, which treats communications infrastructure and computing capacity as converging rather than separate businesses, with AI as the driver.

The company showed an AI Factory and AI devices at the event, alongside a commercial roadmap spanning network and computing infrastructure through to connected terminals. Nothing was announced with a launch date or pricing.
