XtalPi and Fangda Carbon Deploy AI for Graphite Electrode Production
XtalPi and Fangda Carbon have put a predictive AI model into operational use after it passed acceptance testing, the companies said in a press release. The system evaluates and ranks graphite electrode formulations before physical trials.
The model combines Fangda Carbon's manufacturing records with performance forecasting, optimization algorithms, and expert rules. It identifies blend proportions that meet quality requirements while reducing material costs, and can evaluate substitutes when prices or supplies change.
Tests using independent data and production trials found that the model met required accuracy targets across several performance measures. Human experts continue to select final formulations and validate them through experiments or production. The companies plan to expand the system into broader formulation design and process optimization.
