WeRide and Renault Launch Autonomous Robobus Trial in Barcelona
WeRide and Renault Group have launched their first autonomous Robobus trial in Barcelona, Spain, announced in a press release. The trial, which runs from March 10th to 14th, offers a free service in the city center, showcasing the capabilities of automated transport technologies in a dense urban environment.
This initiative marks WeRide and Renault Group's first test in Spain of their Level-4 autonomous vehicle for public transport. The Robobus will operate on a circular route of over 2 kilometers, with four stops, allowing passengers to experience autonomous driving in real traffic conditions.
The trial in Barcelona follows WeRide's recent announcement of its first fully driverless commercial Robobus service in France's Drôme region, highlighting its expansion into European markets. The Barcelona trial aims to demonstrate the maturity and adaptability of WeRide's technology in diverse global settings.
