WeRide Introduces GENESIS Simulation Platform for Autonomous Driving

January 29, 2026
WeRide has launched GENESIS, a simulation platform that combines physical and generative AI to accelerate autonomous vehicle development and testing across global environments.

WeRide Inc. has launched WeRide GENESIS, a general-purpose simulation model that integrates physical and generative AI to support large-scale autonomous vehicle development and testing, announced in a press release.

The GENESIS platform creates realistic virtual cities within minutes, using generative AI to reproduce complex and rare driving scenarios that are difficult to capture in real-world testing. It enables continuous feedback between simulated and real-world operations to improve performance and reduce development time.

GENESIS includes four main AI modules: AI Scenarios for generating diverse driving conditions, AI Agents for modeling realistic road user behaviors, AI Metrics for quantitative performance evaluation, and AI Diagnosis for automated issue detection and optimization. Together, these modules form a closed-loop system for training and validating autonomous driving algorithms.

The platform supports various vehicle configurations and road conditions worldwide, allowing autonomous systems from Level 2++ to Level 4 to be trained on a unified platform. WeRide stated that GENESIS condenses millions of kilometers of road testing into days of virtual simulation, enhancing efficiency and global scalability for its autonomous driving technology.
