Waterdrop Inc. Releases 2024 ESG Report Highlighting AI and Social Initiatives
Waterdrop Inc. has released its 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, which highlights the company's advancements in AI technology and social welfare initiatives, announced in a press release. The report details Waterdrop's focus on AI innovation, with over 100 related patents, including the development of the 'Waterdrop Guardian' large language model (LLM). This model, registered with the Cyberspace Administration of China, aims to enhance the insurance value chain by providing professional and accessible advice.
In addition to technological advancements, Waterdrop Inc. has expanded its social initiatives, targeting vulnerable groups and rural communities. The company has launched 174 inclusive insurance products and constructed 30 new rural medical clinics, serving over 500,000 beneficiaries. These efforts are part of Waterdrop's broader commitment to integrating social responsibility into its corporate strategy.
The report also marks the first disclosure of Waterdrop's Scope 1-3 greenhouse gas emissions, showing a 33.32% reduction in operational emissions in 2024. This reflects the company's ongoing efforts to improve environmental data management and combat climate change.
